Policy & Process Document Development

I help not-for-profit organizations develop clear, comprehensive, and values-aligned program policies and operational processes that form the foundation for sustainable growth and organizational strength.

My approach integrates a balance between funder requirements, legislative frameworks, and organizational values, ensuring that policies meet compliance standards while staying grounded in each organization’s mission and community context.

Through a collaborative and trauma-informed process, I support organizations to:

  • Review and map existing policies and workflows to identify service gaps, overlaps, and areas for greater alignment.

  • Develop or refine program manuals, operational guidelines, and procedural tools that promote clarity, consistency, and accountability.

  • Embed standards of care, legal requirements, and ethical frameworks into everyday practice.

  • Strengthen internal communication, role clarity, and decision-making processes that enhance staff confidence and team cohesion.

Capacity Building

I work alongside not-for-profit organizations to strengthen teams through continued education, skill development, and reflective practice. In this context, capacity building is about supporting staff and leadership to deepen their knowledge, refine their practice, and build confidence in responding to the evolving realities of the work.

 

My approach begins with listening — understanding the day-to-day challenges teams are facing, the strengths already present, and the areas where additional support or learning may be helpful. While I offer a range of core training offerings and foundational learning modules, each engagement is thoughtfully tailored to reflect the unique culture, operational realities, and nuanced needs of the organization and the communities it serves. From this foundation, I adapt and refine the content to ensure it is relevant, practical, and grounded in real-world service delivery, creating learning experiences that resonate with staff and strengthen everyday practice.

The outcomes of my work include:

  • Targeted staff training and continued education on topics such as trauma-informed care, harm reduction, documentation, case management, enhancing psychological safety, and de-escalation strategies

  • Supporting teams to strengthen communication, collaboration, and role clarity

Organizational Planning & Strategic Directions

I support organizations to develop clear, actionable strategic plans that align vision, values, and operations with the realities of their work and the needs of the communities they serve. Strategic planning is an opportunity to step back, reflect, and intentionally set direction — creating a shared roadmap that guides decision-making, resource allocation, and program development.

My approach is collaborative, values-driven, and grounded in real-world practice. I work with leadership, staff, and key stakeholders to identify priorities, clarify goals, and strengthen alignment across programs and services. This includes integrating funder expectations, legislative considerations, and community-informed perspectives into a cohesive and achievable strategy.

Through facilitated sessions, conversations, environmental scans, and practical planning tools, I support organizations to move from broad vision to clear priorities, measurable objectives, and implementation pathways. The result is a strategic direction that is not only aspirational, but also grounded, responsive, and sustainable over time.
